Makhluk Seni
Your latest drawing last night...
Sufi: Mama...!
Giving me a proud smile sambil goyang-goyang kepala...
Sufi: Dah siap!

From my observation, when you were just over a year, you started off with some random and meaningless scribbles. It later developed into linear scribbles which resembles primitive circles which then converts into an enclosed shapes. You have improved your control of wrist and finger movements.
With all the progress above, you're loving all the attentions - verbal compliments and our exaggerated facial expressions and gestures (esp me of course!) as a means of giving credits to your competency.
Sufi,
I hope you will enjoy arts and drawings as much as I did. Why I'm using past tense? Well, I used to be quite good in art. I still remembered when I was in standard 1 - class of 1 Biru. My teacher will select three drawings to be pinned up on the board. And guess what? My drawing of a chicken was selected! From time to time, I will look at my drawing - feeling happy and at the same time, proud :)
Another unforgetable memory was during form 1. It was the Pendidikan Seni Mid Exam part 2 where I can choose from a list of art/drawing to do. I chosed to do a bookmark. I patched up some cloth materials that I have brought along from home - one of the materials was from my green-pink Baju Kurung :) Credit to Nenek who always keep behind the extra materials after she'd done her sewing. So, the bookmark turned out to be an abtract-looking masterpiece, so I called. And I got 42/50. Yes, I still remembered because I was among the highest scorer :)
My interest in art and drawing evolved when I took up Pendidikan Seni as my additional subject for SPM 1999. Pak Anjang was surprised of my choice. He thought I would either take up Prinsip Akaun, Tasawuff Islam or Bahasa Arab. I didn't have to decide much back then. I just know it :)
Alhamdulillah after my hard work (we often had night classes to complete our art assignments including the 'Hidupan Laut' Batik that we need to submit for our Kerja Seni 1 for SPM). I got A1 for my SPM! I was so happy! I was somehow pressured to get A1 since there were only 7 SPM candidates who took up this subject in our school - Me, Pja, Lina, Jojot, Ezal, Buden and Ober. We were called 'Makhluk Seni' by our friends.
Somehow, I've lost my magic in arts and drawings. Tangan jadi keras! Papa punye drawing lagi cantik. So whenever you started drawing animals, I will ask Papa to guide you.. and you would start guessing...cat...ayam...elephant!
In the meantime, enjoy drawing and colouring, Sufi!
Love,
Mama
